Messages from Your Conference Room Rector and Rectora

Hello Cursillo family! It’s hard to believe but we are already deep into planning for Cursillo 2027. My name is James Fraser and I have the huge pleasure of serving as the men’s Rector this year. The team is lined up, the theme is set, and all systems are go!

The theme for the men’s 2027 candidates is “Radical Glory”.

During Jesus’ message at the last supper, he told the disciples that He is the vine and we are the branches and that we are to remain in Him for “This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” (John 15:8) He goes on to explain to the disciples that their love will set them apart from the rest of the world, and the world may hate them for it. It has been on my heart this year to live in such a way that brings all the glory to God, and in doing so look radically different than how the rest of the world lives. The Cursillo tagline is “a short course in Christian living”, so this idea of Radical Glory feels like an excellent culmination of all the weekends Rollos.

Come to the weekend expecting to see brothers united in serving God, music that hits deep, and food that keeps your bellies full. This weekend doesn’t happen without all of us
coming together! Register early for Palanca. Start praying now, asking God to put someone on your heart to sponsor. Use the next few months to talk up how great Cursillo was for
your walk and get them excited about the weekend as well. I look forward to the months ahead, and I can’t wait to serve with you all come February!

De Colores!

Hello, 4th Day Community!

I am excited to share with you the theme for Women’s Cursillo 2027: Christ Is My Firm Foundation.

As I’ve spent the last several months praying and seeking direction for this weekend, one thing I kept coming back to is how unwavering God is in our lives. He is our constant. When I look back on hardships in my own life, I can see God’s goodness so clearly. I’m reminded of the ways He has faithfully held me through the storms until they passed. What an encouragement it is to know how deeply He loves us and that He will hold us through whatever we may face.

Our theme is based on Matthew 7:24–27, where Jesus concludes the Sermon on the Mount with the story of the wise and foolish builders. He gives us a choice: Will we simply hear His words, or will we put them into practice?

Jesus calls us to be both hearers and doers of God’s Word. The foundation of our lives matters because it is what gives stability to everything else. It can be easy to mistake knowing Scripture for living Scripture. We can attend Bible studies, listen to podcasts, highlight verses, and fill journals with notes. Those are wonderful things, but they are not the goal. God’s Word was never meant to simply inform us; it was meant to transform us.

Small acts of obedience, repeated day after day, build a life firmly rooted in Christ. They deepen our trust, strengthen our faith, and prepare us for whatever lies ahead. The storms will come, Jesus doesn’t say if they come, but when. The difference is the foundation beneath us.

As we look ahead to Cursillo 2027, I invite you to prayerfully ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any hidden “sand” in your foundation and to help you anchor your life more fully in Jesus.

Don’t wait for the storm to discover your foundation.

And remember, our obedience doesn’t earn God’s love, it flows from it.

I hope you’ll join us for Women’s Cursillo 2027 as we learn together what it means to hear His

Word, put it into practice, and build our lives on the only foundation that will never fail.

In His grace,

Jackie Tinklenberg
