2026 Palanca 'What to Know and what to bring'

Ready For the Biggest part of cursillo?

Did you have an impactful Cursillo experience as a Candidate? Now is the time for you to be a vital part of the body that creates this experience for others. Come and serve the Candidates and continue to grow in community in a new way.

Join Palanca and give back some of what you gained during your time. Experience the joy of giving and living in the 4th day.

The word “palanca” is Spanish for a lever or crowbar. Palanca is intercessory prayer, sacrifice, and works of mercy.

In the same way that the lever enables a person to lift something which is beyond his or her strength, the prayers and sacrifices allow the apostle to accomplish more than he or she could alone. The Palanca help to overcome the resistance to grace for those for whom we pray. Palancas help to make life arise in abundance.

It also takes a lot of men & women serving behind the scenes as Palanca. We encourage you to come and join us in serving the candidates. Palanca are needed for activities such as:

Covering the candidates in prayer (prayer room)
Setting up for the banquet
Empowering the leaders prior to Rollo
Renewing the leaders after Rollo
Working dining room
Cleaning sleeping rooms/bathrooms
Setting up Stations of the Cross
Worshiping through Music, Chapels, & Fellowship

We are particularly encouraging 4th dayers who were recently candidates to come back and serve in Palanca. Experiencing Cursillo as a candidate is only one step in our journey. Serving as Palanca can be very impactful as you will be encouraged in your walk with Christ.

2027 Registration

Candidates:
$160 individual, $320 married couple

Palanca & Conference Teams:
$190 full weekend or $80 per individual days

*If paying via Card, if you are able, please consider covering the processing fees to help reduce Cursillo expenses.

If you are financially unable to attend, please use this Scholarship Application Form. We do have scholarships available for Teams and Palanca.

If you need additional assistance, please talk to Val Rieck. Please do not financial restraint keep you from serving at Cursillo.
