We have a lot of Cursillo 2026 news for you in this newsletter. You will hear from our Conference Team Rector, Rectora, Facility Update, a note about Thrivent.
Note from your Conference Room Rector
Yaks! I mean Yikes! Cursillo will be soon upon us, can you believe it? Hello everyone, I am Craig Dischinger, it’s my fourth year on the Back Table and I have been told that makes me the official Rector for Men’s Cursillo 2026. I was asked to write a brief update about what the men should expect this February at Cursillo.
First, expect the unexpected and two, reread point one.
Over the past several years on the Back Table I knew this day would eventually come. I have been thinking and praying on what the Men’s 2026 theme should be. Then it hit me like a two-by-four falling on my big toe. Built for More is the theme, and it will be a construction based weekend. God has designed men to be leaders, protectors, providers, and so much more! Our current secular culture is doing its best to tear men down and make them weak, feeble, and insignificant. It is my hope and prayer that through the Built for More weekend, men can be encouraged, empowered and built up into the men God created us to be. We have a whole lot of unused potential and it is time that we as men see that God has a purpose for our lives if we are
willing to surrender to Him.
The theme verse will be 1 Corinthians 3:11 and we will also use many other scripture verses to
encourage, build and strengthen the men in 2026.
Our Conference Team is all set, everyone’s contract has been negotiated and all the details have been worked out. The planning is rolling. This year we are getting a head start on writing rollos as we had a “Zoom” (Teams) meeting and we shared with our speakers on how to write a rollo, how to share your testimony and what steps are needed to prepare. This was a great meeting and it spurred a lot of excitement and hopefully helped to calm some nerves of our Table Leaders. We plan to meet again later this fall and continue our writing and planning.
Yes, Cursillo will be here before we know it. So, please start praying and asking candidates to sign up early and often. Let’s pack the house at Green Lake Bible Camp in 2026!
Built for More!

A Note from your Conference Room Rectora
Hi Cursillo Family! My name is Clementine (Clem) Buzick. I have been given the amazing opportunity to be Rectora for the woman’s 2026 Cursillo weekend. I am honored and humbled to be called into this role and look forward to serve alongside each one of you. As the time gets closer, I would like to share a couple of things with you.
Both the Conference team and Palanca will be united in our theme and verse!
Our theme came through loud and clear; “Faith over Fear.” Little did I know when I named it how challenged I would become in this area. Both by events in our world as well as in my personal life, “fear” has been so present. With God’s help, I’m working on getting that “Faith” to overtake those fears. I know God has everything in His hands and His work is being done each day.
God says in Isaiah 41:10 (NIV) “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Powerful and comforting words to lean on every day. This will be our theme verse. I feel it comforting to know we are in His hand, and there is no better place to be than held up by the creator of the universe.
Please join me in prayer for all who will be attending Cursillo 2026. The time will be here before we know it. Be thinking of who you would like to sponsor as a candidate. For me, as a candidate, Cursillo made what Jesus did for me REAL! Who would you like to give that gift to? Be thinking about where God could use your gifts and talents for the furthering of His kingdom. And pray for us all as we prepare to do God’s work through this wonderful thing called Cursillo.
Blessings to you all, and DeColores!
Clem
Facility Update
Cursillo Facility Update
On July 29 our facility team met with Green Lake Bible Camp’s Director Travis and their Director of Hospitality Ministries Matt. Concerns about the proposed building plan were discussed and we were assured that the previous plans were concept drawings and not how the camp is now planning to move forward. Currently they are planning to make improvements to the existing building and asked for our input on areas we would like to see addressed. We are thankful to report that WCMN Cursillo will continue to meet at Green Lake Bible Camp!
